The Wellbeing of Children is our main reason for being!!
Traditionally children in rural areas of Tamil Nadu are educationally under-privileged. The illiteracy rate among adults in local villages is 70 -80%.
Truancy - drop out - is a major problem in this area. Some of the reasons are:
- Lack of parental support or involvement.
- Lack of money to buy necessary uniforms and school supplies.
- Lack of motivation.
- Child labour, caring for youger siblings when their parents at work; labouring in the fields or tending farm animals.
- Drought, resulting in migration of one or both parents.
- Malnutrition

-

-
