Non Residential Educational Support
An extension of the Happy Schools programme, we have started an
initiative titled "Non-Residential Educational Support for Children”
A pilot project to motivate children for higher studies. A large number of dropouts were reported among students completing 8th grade. This could be attributed to financial constrains for further studies, change of school to pursue high schooling, distance etc. SPPD has been supporting 113 students chosen from the 23 Happy Schools with financial support for continuing education.
Salient aspects of this program:Amazing 100% pass rate of all girls who sat for 10th standard, compared with 77% for boys. Even 4 drop-outs from the scheme made it.
